Cross-listed course sets are created by your WebCT administrator. A cross-listed course is associated with another course (or other courses) and is taught at the same time, by the same instructor, and in the same location. One course is designated as the master course and it contains all of the course content and user information. All course activity takes place in the master course. The other course is designated as an alias course and it contains only a reference to the master course. When you access an alias course, you are redirected to the master course. On myWebCT, the course in which you were originally added to (either the master course or an alias course) is displayed. If you were added to other courses in the cross-listed set, those courses are also displayed on myWebCT and marked Also known as.
If you are the designer in one cross-listed course, you are also the designer in all cross-listed courses in the set. You can view a list of designers with shared access to courses in a cross-listed set, but you cannot add designers to, or delete designers from, the set.
