Add one TA at a time | Top

Depending on administrator settings, this option may not be available.

  1. From the Control Panel, click Manage Course. The Manage Course screen appears.
  2. Click Manage Teaching Assistants. The Manage Teaching Assistants screen appears.
  3. Under Options: Records, select Add/Import teaching assistants, and click Go. The Add Teaching Assistants screen appears.
  4. Under Add Single Teaching Assistant, complete the text boxes for Last Name, First Name, User ID, and Initial Password. Note: User IDs must be unique and must contain only alphanumeric characters (numbers, letters or underscores). Spaces are not allowed. The initial password must be at least 4 characters in length.
  5. If you are adding the TA to a cross-listed course, the Add Teaching Assistant to Course drop-down list is displayed. Select the course from the cross-listed set to which you want to add the TA. For more information, see Cross-listed courses. Note: When a TA is assigned to one cross-listed course, they also have TA access to all courses in the set, with access to all student records.
  6. Click Add. The Manage Teaching Assistants screen appears and the TA is added.

Importing TA records from the global database | Top

To import a teaching assistant from your institution's global database of WebCT users:

  1. From the Control Panel, click Manage Course. The Manage Course screen appears.
  2. Click Manage Teaching Assistants. The Manage Teaching Assistants screen appears.
  3. Under Options: Records, select Add/Import teaching assistants, and click Go. The Add Teaching Assistants screen appears.
  4. Under Import from Global Database, enter the TA's WebCT ID in the text box.
  5. If you are adding the TA to a cross-listed course, the Add Teaching Assistant to Course drop-down list is displayed. Select the course from the cross-listed set to which you want to add the TA. For more information, see Cross-listed courses. Note: When a TA is assigned to one cross-listed course, they also have TA access to all courses in the set, with access to all student records.
  6. Click Add. The Manage Teaching Assistants screen appears and the TA is added.

Note: If you don't know a TA's WebCT ID consult your WebCT system administrator.
